Wedding Photography

I love photographing weddings, not just recording your day but providing memories to look back on, the emotion, laughter and fun of your day! I can’t pinpoint my style but it’s a definite mix of alternative, reportage, traditional and classic. That covers all the bases but it depends what YOU want and what the day brings. I’ve been covering weddings for over 10 years and have taken something from all the style’s and trends to create what I feel is my own.

At the very start, I invite you to our studio for a relaxed and informal chat to discuss your day and your ideas and what is important to you! Some of the things we discuss are:

Getting Ready, Preparations, Pre-Wedding EXCITEMENT

I have to admit it’s one of my favourite parts of the day. I just get so Excited, yes probably as excited as you. The build up to the day is so much fun. One minute your in your dressing gown, the next looking your very best and on the way to your vows. Yes, it can seem that quick! Whether it’s for the bride, or the groom as well, I capture all the excitement and details as the day unfolds. It can also be a nice time to get a few important shots in the bag with your friends and loved ones before the nerves build on the way to the service.

The Service, Your Vows, Happily Ever After

I always check in with your minister/celebrant/registrar to say ‘Hi’ and to briefly discuss your service and how I can be as unobtrusive as possible. Sometimes I’m invited only to the back of the church, sometimes I have free reign but generally I find a good spot and keep out the way. Capturing the key moments, fleeting looks and happy memories.

Formal Group Shots, Friends and Family Memories

It’s great (and makes life easier) if we decide on the key group shots you would like on the day. It’s also helpful to have a ‘runner’, perhaps a groomsman, to help find all the guests for the more formal shots. I’m very natural in the way that I work, unobtrusive and I don’t shout at your guests to get the group shots done – I like to use humour, remembering that this day is about you, your loved ones and having a great time. Working quickly and effectively to get great images without taking too long. I wont have everyone hanging around for ages and it gives me more time to capture the fun informal shots.

Bridal Portraits, Mr and Mrs, Time out to Wander

I will usually spend around 30 minutes during the Wedding day to capture some beautiful portraits of just the two of you. I try to make this as natural as possible, with some very gentle direction to make you relax, giggle and have fun. It’s a great opportunity for you to have a breather, explore your chosen venue and grounds and spend some time with each other on your day.

In between and after the more formal shots I ‘shoot from the hip’ so to speak. Capturing everything that is going on: guests chatting, mingling, kids playing, the décor, the scenery, the cake, the speeches, the dancing and happy to oblige any guests who request a photograph.
